Interior Design and The Walking Dead’s Alexandria Homes

Design Details in The Walking Dead’s Alexandria Homes

Who loves the The Walking Dead? I’m certainly a big fan!! I would love to attend the Walker Stalker Con, hang out with fellow TWD fans and chat for hours about what’s happened and what’s going to happen on the TV series. However, I’m not a fan of big crowds and I don’t have the patience for long lines. But I NEVER miss a show and at times will binge watch the entire series from the beginning. Have you ever done that? Makes you feel like you’re literally living in a zombie-filled world, hearing strange growling sounds from the other room and afraid to go outside in the dark. Buy Sildenafil Citrate

So what does The Walking Dead have to do with interior design? Umm, that would be the fabulous houses lining the streets of Alexandria. Did you know that some of these houses are Southern Living house plans? Ever since becoming a charter member of the Southern Living & Coastal Living Designer Network, I’m obsessed with Southern Living homes. Such as this beauty in which Jessie, Sam, Ron and the late Pete have dwelled.

Watching the latest episodes set in the Alexandria community, as an interior designer, I immediately noticed all the interesting architectural details, finish selections, furnishings, artwork, lighting and accessories of each character’s home. Let’s take a look at some of my favorite features. And I’ll share with you where you can get the exact same item or something similar. Sildigra http://www.healthfirstpharmacy.net/sildigra.html

Rickhouse

Rick’s group occupy these two houses.

Rick’s house is my favorite home. It’s clean, modern, simple and livable.

By far, my favorite piece of furniture in this room is the Stanley Furniture European Farmhouse-L’Acrobat Open Air Shelf atop the European Farmhouse-Campagne Cabinet.

The Open Air Shelf is quite versatile as a stand alone piece. It can be used as a room divider, media cabinet, or etagere. Constructed of dutch white cedar solids and ash burl veneers, the Champagne Cabinet and Open Air Shelf have a rich, hand-waxed distressed coffee tone. Can you say gorgeous!!!

Surveying the interior of Jessie’s house, I’m quite intrigued with this 3-piece architectural wood art lining the entrance/family room wall. I wasn’t able to find the source yet, but I’m still hunting it down.

However, I did find the abstract artwork displayed just on the other side of the doorway. From one of our preferred vendors, Uttermost.

Here’s a great alternative to the foyer table in Jessie’s house.  I like the industrial look of this table because of the iron tripod legs and the reclaimed wood top.

Lastly let’s take a look at the house paired with Rick’s house, which I assume is occupied by Abraham, Rosita, Eugene and a few others. The interior is simple and elegant.

The chandelier is from one of my top lighting vendors. Capital Lighting offers great style and value-based pricing.

I couldn’t find the exact chair shown in the family room but I did find a similar chair from Ollix in the exact same fabric.

I recently used this comfy chair in my ASID-HBAWS Showhouse this past fall.

What do you think of my design interpretation of the Alexandrian homes from The Walking Dead? Hope you found some inspiration beyond the zombie-filled world that’s about to overtake this beautiful community. 😉
